MILO Summer Competition

By participating in this competition, entrants agree to the terms and conditions set out below.

  1. This competition is open to all legal residents and/or legal citizens of South Africa in possession of a valid identity document and who are over the age of 18 years. In addition, the following people shall not be eligible to participate in this competition:
    • Directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, merchandisers, employees or consultants of Nestlé (South Africa) Proprietary Limited (“Nestlé”) and the organisers of the Competition.
    • People who are not legal residents and/or legal citizens of the Republic of South Africa.
    • Spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of any of the persons specified in 1.1 above.
    • Persons under the age of 18 years.
  2. The competition shall commence on 2 October 2017 and will end on 15 December 2017. No entries received after 15 December 2017 will be considered.
  3. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
  4. Mechanics:
    To participate in this competition, entrants may enter the competition in 1 of the following 3 ways:
    • Retailer Mechanic:
      1. Participants are required to purchase any MILO 125g, 250g, 500g or 1kg to enter the competition and stand a chance to win an FC Barcelona branded soccer ball.
      2. Participants are required to dial *120*6456# and follow the prompts to enter. USSD Costs 20c/20sec (free minutes do not apply).
      3. Each participant must enter on a phone that is owned and registered to that person. No person can use another person’s phone for competition entry purposes. If it is discovered that a participant has entered on a phone that is not registered to them they will be disqualified.
      4. The cell phone number is key to entries. If the participant has won on a particular cell phone number, then they cannot use another number in order to be contacted further. The number with which each participant enters the competition needs to be a number that is contactable during office hours.
    • In-store promoter mechanic:
      1. The in-store promotional activations will occur over 4 weekends (mid-month and month-end October, and mid-month and month-end November as detailed below).
      2. The in-store activations will occur in MILO’s top 50 stores (specifically Shoprite and Checkers stores) across KZN and Gauteng respectively. There are 25 participating Shoprite stores and 25 participating Checkers stores in total.
      3. The first set of activations will occur in KZN over the weekend of the 13th and 14th of October 2017 and again over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of October 2017. The second set of activations will occur in Gauteng over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of November 2017 and again over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November 2017.
      4. To enter the competition during the in-store promotional activations on the dates specified above, participants are required to purchase MILO 125g, 250g, 500g or 1kg at the relevant participating store to get a chance to spin the prize generator in order to stand a chance of winning an FC Barcelona branded soccer ball.
      5. Participants will get 1 chance per purchase to spin the prize generator and will be required to provide proof of purchase before being allowed to spin the prize generator.
    • Digital mechanic:
      1. Participants will be required to upload a video of their “young champion” to the MILO Facebook page, attempting the FC Barcelona skills and drills learnt through the content that will be uploaded on social media during the promotional period.
  5. The Prizes:
    Participants in this competition stand a chance to win:
    • Daily Prizes:
      There will be 800 winners in total for the duration of competition period (for the first 20 days there will be 14 winners drawn per day and thereafter 13 winners will be drawn per day for the duration of the competition period). Winners will be selected through a daily random draw. Each daily prize winner will win a FC Barcelona branded Football.
    • In store Prizes:
      • There will be 1 100 winners in total (over the 4 weekends in which the in-store activations will take place).
      • The prize generator software will randomly generate the winners, based on the allocation of prizes per store.
      • Each participant will stand a chance to win an FC Barcelona branded Football.
    • Digital Prizes:
      • There will be 50 winners in total (campaign duration a total of 25 days therefore 2 winners drawn per day) for the duration of competition period. Winners will be selected through a daily random draw.
  6. How to claim your prize if you are one of the winning participants:
    • Daily Prize Winners:
      The winner will be notified telephonically where the winner will be required to provide their name, physical address, copy of their identity document/valid passport, and till slip as proof of purchase. Nestlé (or its agent) will endeavour to contact the prize winner once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. Each prize will be sent to the relevant winner via courier and delivery will take place between 1-2 weeks of completion of the verification process depending on the winner’s location. If a prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules.
    • In store Prize Winners:
      Winners will receive their prizes immediately on the spot if they win.
    • Digital Prize Winners:
      The winners will be notified via private message where the winner will be required to provide their name, physical address, copy of their identity document/valid passport. Nestlé (or its agent) will endeavour to contact the prize Winner once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. Each prize will be sent to the relevant winner via courier and delivery will take place between 1-2 weeks of completion of the verification process depending on the winner’s location. If a prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules.
  7. General
    • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
    • Nestlé shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged or delayed or electronically corrupt entries for any reason whatsoever.
    • Nestlé reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
    • Nestlé may require the winner to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement to enable Nestlé to ensure compliance with these rules. Should the winner be found not to have complied with these rules, he/she will automatically be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited. Winners may also be required to sign acceptance of prizes and indemnity documents.
    • The prize/s are not transferable, and no substitution or cash redemption of prizes is permitted. The prize will not be handed/awarded to a third party, but only to the verified prize winner.
    • Nestlé reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute the prizes with any other prizes of comparable or greater commercial value for whatever reason.
    • By entering this competition, you authorise Nestlé and the promoter, to collect, store and use (not share) personal information of entrants for communication or statistical purposes. You are entitled to decline any marketing communication by emailing consumer.services@za.nestle.com OR Dial *130*7445*1#. Any personal data submitted by you will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and Nestlé’s privacy policy.
    • The winners or participants may be required to take part in publicity campaigns for broadcast or publishing purposes. Winners or participants shall at all times be entitled to decline the above request. Winners or participants that take part in any publicity will not be entitled to any payment or other remuneration for such publicity or otherwise. All publicity and other materials will be the sole property of the promoter.
    • The organisers of the competition reserve the right to cancel or postpone the competition at any time. No participant shall have any resource or any claim against Nestlé as a result of: (a) any amendment to these terms and conditions; (b) Nestlé’s cancellation, termination, suspension or postponement of the competition; and/or (c) Nestlé’s inability, despite attempts, in line with these terms and conditions, to reach a participant.
    • Nestlé reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

  1. Introduction
    • Participation in this Competition is governed by these terms and conditions (the “Rules”).
    • Participants are encouraged to review the Rules before entering into the Competition and acknowledge that they been given an appropriate opportunity to do so and that they understand and accept these Rules.
    • This competition is operated by Nestle South Africa (Proprietary) Limited (“Nestlé”) in conjunction with TMARC and Cheri Yase Kasi (the “Promoters”).
    • Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Rules and Participants agree to abide by these Rules.
  2. By participating in this Competition, Participants agree to the rules set out below.
  3. This Competition is limited to residents of Johannesburg. In addition, the following people shall not be eligible to participate in this Competition:
    • Directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, merchandisers, employees or consultants of the Promoters.
    • People who are not legal residents and/or legal citizens of the Republic of South Africa.

  5. Mechanics
    To participate in this Competition, Participants must adhere to the following:
    • Participants must purchase any 2 Aero 85g Slabs listed below and dial *120*2376*last4digitsofbarcode# to stand a chance to win 1 of 10 Double Tickets to SA Fashion Week in Johannesburg.
    • Participating Products:

  6. The Prize:

    • If a participants name is drawn, they will be contacted within 24hours of the date of the relevant draw.
  7. How to claim your prize:
    • At the time that a potential prize winner is identified, the potential prize winner will receive a telephone call from a representative of the Promoters at which point he/she may be required to answer a few questions regarding his/her eligibility as well as be requested to submit certain documents such as proof of purchase (receipts) and a copy of his/her ID and/or driver’s license to the Promoters representative.
    • The potential prize winner is not an actual winner until his/her submission is validated and his/her documents are completed and submitted to the Promotors. If a potential prize winner does not meet the eligibility requirements, the prize will be forfeited and a runner up finalist will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.
    • If the Promotors are unable to reach any of the potential prize winners after 3 (three) attempts made within 2 (two) working days of their name being drawn or if the potential prize winner fails to submit any requested information or documentation with 48 hours of it being requested, for whatsoever reason, including incorrect telephone numbers or inoperative telephone numbers, such winner will be disqualified and a runner up finalist will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.
    • Eligible winners will have their prizes delivered to them by a representative of the Promotors based on the information they will have shared via the above mentioned telephonic conversation.
  8. General

    • All Participants participate entirely at their own risk. By reading and accepting these Rules, the Participants give consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the Promoters, their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the Competition and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of any of the Promoters.
    • The Promoters, their directors, employees, agents and distributors accept no responsibility and they will not, in any circumstances, be liable to compensate the Participants, or accept any liability for: (a) any inability by the Participant to use the prize in part or at all; (b) the lack of quality or any other aspect of any service which is or should be provided at any venue(s) in relation to the prize; or (c) any personal loss or injury occurring at any venue(s) arising, directly or indirectly, out of the use of the prize.
    • The Promoters, their directors, employees, agents and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of any prize nor in respect of any warranties or undertakings given by any person other than the Promoters themselves.
    • The Promoters reserve the right to terminate or extend the Competition at any time. In the event of such termination or extension, all Participants agree to waive (give up) any rights that they may have in terms of the Promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoters, its advertising agencies, advisors, suppliers and nominated agents.
    • By entering the Competition, Participants acknowledge that the Promotion will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the CPA. Participants undertake to expeditiously do all things necessary to enable the Promoters to comply with their obligations under the CPA including, but not limited to providing such personal information as may be required in order to facilitate handing over the prize to the Participant. Should any Participant refuse or be unable to comply with this requirement, the Participant shall be deemed to have forfeited the prize.
    • Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in these Rules, the Promoters reserve the right to amend, modify, change, postpone suspend or cancel this Competition, the Rules and any prize (which has not yet been allocated), or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which the Promoters deem necessary. At the end of the Competition for whatsoever reason, all of the Promoters’ obligations in regard to the Competition as well as in regard to the prizes shall cease to exist.
    • These Rules shall be governed by and interpreted according to the laws of the Republic of South Africa and any Participant and Nestlé consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa.

  6. The Prizes:
    • WEEKLY CASH PRIZES:
      • Participants stand a chance to win 1 of 6 cash prizes of R500 each during the following weekly periods (1 cash prize to be won per week):
        1. 20 October 2017;
        2. 27 October 2017;
        3. 3 November 2017;
        4. 10 November 2017;
        5. 17 November 2017;
        6. 24 November 2017;
      • Winners will be determined by random draw and will be contacted on the Monday following each period specified above.
      • At the time that a potential prize winner is identified, the potential prize winner will receive a telephone call from a representative of Nestlé at which point he / she will be required to provide his / her ID and / or driver’s license to the Nestlé representative. The potential prize winner will also be required to provide his / her banking details in order for the prize to be paid via EFT into the account. The prize winner must be the owner of the bank account, if another account is chosen, written consent from the account holder and prize winner must be obtained prior to payment.
      • The prize winner will also be required to provide a copy of a valid till slip as proof of purchase of the participating products within the promotional period.
      • Potential prize winners will have 48 hours to produce the relevant documentation failing which the Participant shall be deemed to have forfeited the prize and a runner up finalist will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.
    • GRAND PRIZE: Trip for 2 to London worth R50,000
      • There is 1 trip for 2 to London to the value of R50,000 to be won. The prize includes: flights, accommodation and specified meals, travel insurance, taxes and porterage. The prize excludes passport and Visa requirements where necessary, health requirements where necessary, optional excursions (unless specified otherwise), all items of personal nature, gratuities, and meals and beverages other than specified. All spending money is for the winner’s own account and no cash will be handed over to the winner. The prize is redeemable for a period of 1 year after the prize is awarded to the eligible winner (the “travel period”). The prize winner may select any date of travel during the travel period (except dates falling within the blackout/high season from December to January). Trips cannot be booked over the aforesaid blackout/high season period. All travel is subject to availability at the time of booking.
      • The prize is non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
      • Winners must be over the age of 18 years and have a valid ID and driver’s license. In addition, the prize winner and travel partner must have valid South African passports and will be required to meet the relevant VISA application criteria. The prize winner will be responsible for obtaining the necessary VISA and other travel documentation at their own expense. The prize winner will be required to sign a waiver of liability and indemnity before claiming his/her prize.
      • In the event that a prize winner does not have a valid South African passport and/or fails to meet the VISA application criteria, then the prize winner will forfeit the prize.
      • The Draw Date: Week of 4th December 2017
      • If a participant’s name is drawn, the potential prize winner will receive a telephone call from a representative of the Promoters at which point he/she may be required to answer a few questions regarding his/her eligibility as well as be requested to submit certain documents such as proof of purchase (receipts) and a copy of his/her ID and/or driver’s license to the Promoters representative.

    1. 3.1. To participate in the competition, participants must purchase any 1 (one) of the following Nestlé products from any store in Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland or Namibia during the promotional period and retain their till slips as proof of purchase:

      1. 3.1.1. MAGGI LAZENBY 125ml;
      2. 3.1.2. MAGGI LAZENBY 250ml;
      3. 3.1.3. MAGGI LAZENBY 500ml;
      4. 3.1.4. MAGGI CHILLI SAUCE 250ml;

    2. 3.2. Thereafter, the participant must write his/her name and contact number on one of the entry forms available in store and place it in the relevant entry form box provided in the relevant store.

    3. 3.3. Participants may enter the competition as many times as they wish over the promotional period, provided that they comply with the mechanics set out in 3.1 and 3.2 each time they wish to enter the competition.

    4. 3.4. The winners will be determined by random draw within two weeks after the date of closure of the competition (this date is subject to change without notice). The draw will take place at each participating store, and will be conducted by a Nestlé representative at each store.

  4. The Prize:

    1. 4.1. Participants entering the competition stand a chance to win one of 110 George Foreman Grills worth ZAR599 each. One winner will be drawn in each of the 110 participating stores.

    2. 4.2. Participants may only win one prize throughout the promotional period.

    3. 4.3. Nestlé reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute the prize with any other prize of comparable or greater commercial value for whatever reason.

  5. How to claim your prize:

    • 5.1. At the time that a potential prize winner is identified, the potential prize winner will receive a telephone call from a representative of Nestlé, at which point he/she may be required to answer a few questions regarding his/her eligibility as well as be requested to submit certain documents such as proof of purchase (receipts) and a copy of his/her proof of identity.

    • 5.2. The potential prize winner is not an actual winner until his/her submission is validated and his/her documents are completed and submitted to Nestlé. If a potential weekly prize winner does not meet the eligibility requirements, the prize will be forfeited and a runner up will be deemed the potential weekly prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.

    • 5.3.     • 5.5. It is the responsibility of the winner to avail themselves to sign for the prize and collect their prize from the relevant participating store. No one other than the prize winner will be allowed to sign for the prize. The winner will need to produce valid identification and proof of purchase of the participating product (purchased during the promotional period) on redemption of their prize.

    • 5.6. Should the winner not collect their prize from the relevant store within the 14 day period stipulated above, the prize will be forfeited and a runner up finalist will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.

    • 5.7. The prizes are not transferable, and no substitution or cash redemption of prizes is permitted.

  6. General:

      • Participants will be informed whether they are a winner or not on the USSD string. Winning participants will receive airtime directly to their phone.
      • The potential prize winner is not an actual winner until his/her submission is validated and his/her documents are completed and submitted to Nestlé. If a potential prize winner does not meet the eligibility requirements, the prize will be forfeited and a runner up finalist will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions herein.
