1843 Henri Nestlé establishes his first lemonade bottling factory.
1987 Nestlé SA takes a majority stake in the Société Générale des Eaux Minérales de Vittel.
1992 Acquisition of the Source Perrier SA Group as Nestlé becomes the leading global player on the bottled water market.
1996 Perrier Vittel SA is borne.
1998 Take over of Italy’s leading Italian bottled water producer Sanpellegrino. Launch of the first multi-site bottled water under the Nestlé brand: Nestlé Pure Life.
2000 Simultaneous launch of Nestlé Aquarel, a pan-European spring water, in six markets.
2002 Perrier Vittel becomes Nestlé Waters and concentrates on home and office dispensers (HOD) as well as importing products.
2003 Nestlé Waters celebrates its 10th anniversary and acquires the Powwow Group, the European HOD leader.
2004 Expansion of the activity in Asia (South Korea and Indonesia).
2005 Nestlé Waters further develops its business on the African continent with the launch of Nestlé Pure Life in Nigeria and the creation of a partnership in Algeria.
2006 Aligned with the Nestlé Group strategy on nutrition, health and wellness, Nestlé Waters takes a new strategic orientation towards added value drinks.

E - Engage with agricultural suppliers to promote water conservation among farmers

R - Reach out to others to collaborate on water conservation and access, with a particular focus on women and children

Nestlé contributes its expertise and support to educational programmes nationally especially around awareness among children of the vital nature of our precious water resources.
We recently launched the Water Education for Teachers (WET) in 23 countries to educate several million pupils.

Nestlé also reduced the weight of packaging by using recyclable or reusable materials, which also reduced our energy consumption.

We are taking part in the setting up of waste collection and sorting systems and are constantly seeking solutions to reduce the impact of logistics on the environment.

Our transport policy has been optimised by reducing the number of trucks in the development of road-rail transport.

Our continued commitment to health means creating awareness around good hydration for our overall well-being and by paying special attention to product composition and by limiting sugar and food colouring levels.
