Nestlé Waters to bolster product reach to Western Cape consumers

Nestlé Waters will from late 2011 start the process of distributing Nestlé Pure Life Water in 5-litre bottles to the Western Cape region in order to meet increasing demands from consumers in the province.

The delivery of 5-litre Pure Life bottled water was temporarily suspended in the Western Cape due to high transport costs from its Nestlé Waters’ factory in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng.

Recently, however, Nestlé Waters obtained co-packing rights from a Franschhoek based bottled water company, Chamonix. This arrangement will assist in ensuring that Nestlé Waters achieves flexible and efficient delivery of products from the factory to our consumers.

The high safety and quality standards of the Chamonix plant meets with global standards.

“Systematic management of our environmental performance is an essential factor in Nestlé’s sustainable development strategy. Evidence of this commitment to environmental sustainability is the decision to produce, through Chamonix, water in one of the lightest bottles in the industry with a smaller neck size and smaller cap, thus reducing our carbon footprint”, said Eugene van Antwerpen, Business Executive Manager of Nestlé Waters South Africa.

Nestlé Waters is the world's healthy hydration company. The company was founded in 1992 and it is the Nestlé Group's bottled water division accounting for approximately 10% of total Group sales. The company employs 33,500 people in 130 countries and sells 72 water brands.
