Most iconic brands in South Africa, ranked number four overall in the country and number one in the snack and instant meals category in the Ask Africa Iconic brands survey. Icon Brands started in 2009 and identifies brands that are loved and used by South Africa’s rainbow nation.

But what is an iconic brand, one might ask? From a South African perspective, these are brands which unite us as a nation; brands used and loved by South Africans across age, income, race and language spectrums. They are brands that have established a durable and timeless relationship with South African consumers.

South African consumers vote with their hearts as well as with their wallets, to select their iconic brands. However, more formally, a total of 15 284 consumers were surveyed in over 8 000 communities, representing 21+ million adult South African consumers covering and 162 categories by Ask Africa.
